The ASP Staff at Highlands prides themselves in a set schedule for each day, which again, gives structure to the youth and enables them with a sense of time management.
Schedule:
- Attendance, Wash-up & Snack time- 30 minutes
- Station 1- 45 minutes to 1 hour homework help
- Station 2- 30 minutes outdoor recreation
- Station 3- 30 minutes enrichment
- Station 4- 15 minutes games and brainteasers
- Clean-up and Pick-up
Special Event
- Mental Challenges (chess tournaments, trivia clubs and such)
- Sport competitions & Relays (flag football, soccer, double-dutch, etc.)
- Book Clubs (fiction reading groups and discussions)
- Reader’s Theatre (acting out dramatic scripted passages)
- Spelling Bee
